This project was new construction on a beautiful beach-front property in Tsawwassen. The client wanted an all-white décor with hardy finishes to stand up to large, informal family gatherings.
From the front door and double-height foyer the main sightline is right through the house to the beach. Almost the entire back wall of the house is glass to take advantage of the spectacular views of Boundary Bay. With 10 foot ceilings, light walls and white oak hardwood flooring, the main level spaces are large, open and airy. We kept the cabinetry white throughout the house, and added some colour and visual texture in the quartz countertops and stained glass tile backsplash in the kitchen.
Furnishings were selected with white or light finishes, in materials that can easily stand up to sandy grandchildren coming in for lunch. Darker greys were used in the media room with wall colour, area rug and upholstery, and blues were brought into two of the guest bedrooms and ensuite baths. For a bit more contrast, one of the bathrooms was done in charcoal and white.
The master bedroom has a stunning peaked ceiling and glass wall to maximize views of the bay. The master ensuite is a private oasis for the owner with free-standing tub at the windows, large vanity and walk-in shower.
